Abstract

Hypertension is a non communicable disease that is a leading cause of death globally. Comprehensive management efforts are needed, not only pharmacological but also non pharmacological. Acupressure therapy as a complementary treatment has great potential in lowering blood pressure through meridian point stimulation. This activity aims to implement the application of acupressure therapy as an effort to overcome hypertension. The community service was carried out by providing acupressure therapy to 20 residents with high blood pressure. Acupressure massage was performed at points ST36, Li4, and LR3 for 30 minutes. The outcome of this activity was a decrease in blood pressure from an average before therapy of 154.43/95.6 mmHg to 143.3/89.7 mmHg after therapy. Providing acupressure therapy is effective in controlling blood pressure in residents with hypertension and can be used as an effort to overcome hypertension.
