HUBUNGAN KADAR HDL DAN LDL KOLESTEROL PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS DI WILAYAH CIMAHI SELATAN

Abstrak

Background Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that increases every year. The disease is often a predisposition to cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in diabetes. Typical diabetic dyslipidemia is characterized by low HDL cholesterol, high triglycerides with slightly elevated LDL or even normal. This weakened increase in LDL is caused by smaller, more atherogenic dense LDL particles. Aim: This study aims to determine the relationship between HDl and LDL cholesterol levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Method:The study was conducted using a descriptive observational method on 34 patients who experienced Diabetes Mellitus in the South Cimahi area. The sampling method was carried out with a quota sampling and analysis of HDL and LDL cholesterol levels was obtained using the POCT by Lipid Pro. Result: The data on HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels were then analyzed by t-test using SPSS. The results of the t-test stated that there was a significant relationship between HDL and LDL levels in Diabetic Mellitus patients, with a p-value of 0.000. Based on the results of this study, monitoring lipid profile levels in patients with diabetes mellitus is important to prevent cardiovascular disease Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between HDL and LDL levels in Diabetic Mellitus Patients.
